Identification of Diabetes Distress Factor in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Patients at Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Kabupaten Aceh Tamiang
Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a non-communicable disease that provides changes both physiologically and psychologically, one of which is diabetes distress. The purpose of this study was to identify factors related to the incidence of diabetes distress of type 2 diabetes mellitus sufferers at the Aceh Tamiang Regional General Hospital. This research is a quantitative type with a cross sectional approach. Sampling techniques use purposive sampling techniques. Respondents in this study as many as 101 people with DM at Aceh Tamiang District General Hospital. The research instruments used are drug compliance questionnaires, family support and diabetes distress scales. There was a significant association in variables of Complications DM (p=0.010), and family support (p = 0.002). Logistic regression tests found that disease complications and family support were the most dominant factors for the incidence of diabetes distress, complications of diseases with a value of 0.024 and OR 0.254, family support p value 0.0264 and OR 0.264. The results of a simple linear analysis found the factors that dominate the occurrence of diabetes distress are variable complications of the disease and family support. This study recommends the importance of preventive measures of chronic diseases so that sufferers do not experience severe psychosocial problems and continue to have psychiatric problems.
