Candlenut oil and virgin coconut oil have been empirically used as hair growth and hair loss prevention products. Research on the formulation of pomade combinations of candlenut oil and virgin coconut oil for hair growth has been done. The purpose of this study was to formulate and determine the formula with good quality and to determine hair growth activity by varying the concentration of the combination of candlenut oil and virgin coconut oil in the form of pomade. Pomade formulations were prepared in four formulas: F0 as a negative control containing the basic ingredients of pomade, F1 containing a combination of candlenut oil and virgin coconut oil 1:1, F2 (1:2), and F3 (2:1). Evaluation of the preparation was carried out by testing organoleptic, homogeneity, melting temperature, adhesion, pH, stability using the cycling test method and irritation. The hair growth activity test was conducted by applying the pomade on the backs of white rats and measuring hair length on the 7th and 14th days. On day 21, the length and weight of the hair were measured. The results of the stability evaluation showed that the pomade formulas F0, F1, F2 and F3 were physically stable as seen from the organoleptic test, and the homogeneity of the four formulas did not change. The test results for melting temperature, adhesion, and pH still qualify as good parameters. The results of the irritation test showed that the four formulas tested did not cause irritation. The activity test results showed that the best hair growth formula was F3, with an average hair growth length of 9.31 mm and an average hair weight of 67.19 mg/cm2 for 21 days. Based on this research, it can be concluded that the combination of candlenut oil and virgin coconut oil can be formulated into pomade preparations, has quality according to standards and has the best hair growth activity in F3.
