The aggregate stability of the soil is one of the physical properties of soil are very important to be known before cultivation on land sloping. As the increase of population, the availability of land is getting reduced so that the sloping land used as agricultural land as in the Bukit District in Bener Meriah Regency that has the topography of the land is hilly. Land- sloping land in the Hill Districts of many used as a land of coffee plantations and mixed gardens. Land use can affect the stability of soil aggregates through the donation of litter - litter organic matter. Therefore, it is necessary to do analysis of the stability of soil aggregates on some classes of slope and land use in the District of Bukit Regency Bener Meriah.
this Research uses survey method with descriptive explained toaaddress in the field that actually. The average index of aggregate stability of the soil in the garden of the mixture is higher than the coffee plantation, though still in the same criteria that is somewhat stable. The average stability index was highest on the slopes of 15 - 25% in the use of the land garden mixed with a value of 53,64 while the average index of the stability of soil aggregates the best there is on the slopes of 8 - 15% on the use of the land garden coffee with a value of 50,83. Slope and land use have a role on the stability of the aggregate through the organic material. The state of the steep slopes can affect the levels of ingredients - organic where the more steep the state of a land then the risk of organic matter eroded also greater, but in this study is mixed gardens with slopes of 15 - 25% has an index of aggregate stability of the soil that is higher than the slope of the other, it is caused by a large contribution of organic matter and the density of the vegetation that protects the soil from the collision of grains of rain and the lack of processing of the soil on a slope so that it does not damage the soil aggregate. Contribution of organic matter obtained from the vegetation growing on the land, the diversity of vegetation that grows can donate organic material which may be of influence on the stability of soil aggregates, this is because the organic material berperan as a binder particle-particle ground so as to form soil aggregates.
