This research is entitled "Patterns of Adaptation of Different Ethnic Couples in Aceh". This study uses a qualitative case study approach which aims to understand and examine a problem that has occurred based on the life experiences of several people. Aceh around. To analyze the case, the researcher used Robert K. Merton's Adaptation theory. In determining the informant, the researcher used the purposive sampling technique. The informants in this study were five Javanese ethnic husbands/wives. Data collection techniques used in this study are observation, interviews, and documentation. After the data is collected, a data analysis is carried out in the form of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Based on the results and discussion found in this study, it shows that the Javanese ethnic husband/wife only performs the Adaptation Pattern of Conformity and the Pattern of Adaptation of Ritualism. The existence of a conformity adaptation pattern is carried out by following the rules and customs and culture of the living environment, such as participating in various activities or events, learning to communicate using the Acehnese language, similar types of work and opening up to be more familiar with the community. Ritualism adaptation patterns are carried out by following the local culture whose rules are good to follow, if it does not depend on each individual, because culture cannot influence decision making, only by following local rules.
