Epilepsy is a neurological disease which is able to affect people of all ages, races, social classes, as well as regions. It is caused by abnormal release of neurons in the brain characterized with seizures. In addition, epilepsy is often surrounded by prejudices and myths caused with a lack of society knowledge. It is associated with negative attitude and belief as a stigma toward epilepsy sufferer so that it can to influence psychological that own an impact on decreasing the living quality of epilepsy sufferer. The research aims to find out the correlation between demographic characteristic and society knowledge of epilepsy at Banda Aceh city. It was an observational analytic research with a cross sectional design. The samples were societies at Banda Aceh city who were chosen based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria with 312 respondents determined using a consecutive sampling technique. Furthermore, data collection technique used in this research was distributing online questionnaires via Googleform. Besides, statistical analyses applied were Chi-square test, Mann-Whitney, Kruskal-Wallis, and Spearman correlation. The result of this research indicated that the level of respondents’ knowledge was moderate at 48.7%. It can be concluded from the statistical test that there is a correlation among genders, ethnics, education level, and occupation with epilepsy knowledge. Meanwhile, there is no correlation between ages and family history with society knowledge of epilepsy at Banda Aceh city.
