The objective of this study is to look at research findings on the use of Cooperative Learning in teaching reading skill. The discussion of the method is focused on a particular technique under the Cooperative Learning, namely the Number Head Together. The study found that by using this technique in teaching reading, the teacher can make the students more confident to each other for sharing ideas. The students know how to solve the problems with team work and socialize among themselves. The method used in th.is study is a library research. Reading obtain from various resources were processed and described in a descriptive way. Based on the experts' theoritical views, the students should be made a group of four by teacher. The discussion group aimed to share, brainstorm among the members. Based on research finding, the students average score in group are 70. It is found that Cooperative Learning to be more effective to improve the students' reading skill. In the future this study is expected to be useful for other English teachers in improving their reading skill.
