This study is entitled The Use of Directed Reading Teaching Activity (DRTA) in Reading Comprehension for Junior High School Students. Reading is an activity to get meaning from the printed page. However, understanding what is read is difficult for students so that teacher should prepare a suitable strategy in teaching reading to make students understand what they are reading. Direcred Reading Teaching Activity (DRTA) strategy is a strategy included in learner strategy that teacher could apply in teaching reading. This research was conducted to find out whether DRTA strategy is able to improve students' reading comprehension. To obtain the data., the writer conducted library research in searching references it trough book. journal, and article. Based on those source references the writer conclude that Direcred Reading Teaching Activity (DRTA) strategy is a good strategy in teaching reading where it could be seen in the students' improvement in reading comprehension text. Therefore, Direcred Reading Teaching Activity (DRTA) strategy could be one of the alternative strategies that the teacher must consider in teaching reading.
