Thesis Title : The Application of Numbered Heads Together Technique in Teaching Readingfor Junior High School

This study which used library research is intended to look at some given theories and/or previous related research findings on the application of cooperative learning technique numbered heads together in teaching reading. Reading is very important for students in learning English as foreign language. However, it is hard for the students to comprehend and answer the questions of reading passage. To solve the problem, the teacher should apply an appropriate technique to improve students' reading comprehension. The study shows that using the cooperative learning technique numbered heads together is effective in improving the students• reading comprehension. The results of this study can be used as a treatment in teaching reading.
