Title : The Implementation ofAudio lingual Method in Teaching
Speaking Skillfor Junior High School Students


The objective of this study is to look at some given theories and/or research findings in the use of Audio lingual Method in teaching speaking skill for Junior High school students especially in earlier year. The discussion of the approach is focused on the types of pattern drills under the method (repetition, substitution, and transformation drill). The study found that by using the drills in implementing the method in teaching learning activities can facilitate the students to enhance their ability in mastering the target language through habit formation. Besides, the discussion also includes some strengths and weaknesses of the method that should be considered in teaching the target language. Furthermore, the students are highly motivated and pleased to learn a new language within an interesting and life class. Moreover, the method used in this study is library research. Readings obtained from various are
processed and described in a descriptive way. Based on research findings and experts' statements, it is found that Audio lingual method is an effective method to enhance the students speaking ability. This study is expected to be useful for the reader and other English teachers.
