Teacher's code switching is an effect of applying bilingual program at international standard schools. This research is focused on functions and reasons of teacher's code switching in bilingual classroom. The aims of this study are to find out information and data about the functions and reasons of teacher's code switching in bilingual classroom. The subject of this study was five teachers teaching Math and Science subjects in bilingual class at SMP Negeri 6 Banda Aceh. There were two Math teachers, two Biology teachers, and one Physics teacher. In collecting the data, the writer used visual recorder (handy cam) and interview guide. The result of this study shows that there were 7 functions used by the teachers during teaching and learning process. There were topic switch, Affective function, reiteration, quotation, addressee specification, interjection, and Message qualification. Beside that, there were 6 reasons for encouraging teachers to switch the languages. The reasons for that were owning to the teacher's linguistic competence and insecurity, for ease of expression, for clarification, for checking comprehension, for socializing with students, and for procedure and direction. Finally, the researcher hopes that the reader will be interested in doing further research related to this problem.
