Abstract Name : Mawaddatun Mahfudhah Student Number : 1506102020067 Department/Program : English Education/ Undergraduate Title : The Use Of Picture Series To Improve Students’ Reading Comprehension (An Experimental Study at SMA Negeri 1 Bireuen) Keywords: Picture Series, Reading Comprehension, Procedure Text. The research is aimed to find out whether the use Picture Series can improve the students‟ ability in reading comprehension of procedure text or not. This is experimental research that involved one group pretest-posttest design. The population of this study was the twelfth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Bireuen. The sample of this study was the class XII IPA-A consisting 30 students selected by using simple random sampling. The instrument used to collect the data in this research was test in form of written test. The research of data analysis showed that the students‟ mean score in pre-test was 47.3 and mean score in post-test was 81. Morover, the analysis of t-test showed that t-score > t-table (10.30 > 1.699) at the level of significance 0.05 with the degree of freedom (df) is 29. Based on the explanation above, it can be concluded that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected which means that the use of Picture Series can improve the students‟ score in reading comprehension of procedure text.
