Abstrak/Catatan

This study aimed to describe what the teachers’ roles are at the bilingual school in increasing students’ English speaking ability and to describe the positive effect of bilingual school to students' English speaking ability. The writer used the descriptive qualitative research at the Fatih Bilingual School on Sultan Malikul Saleh Street, Number.103 Lamlagang, and Banda Aceh. The source of data was collected through field research (observation, questionnaire and interview, document analysis) and books, journals, the internet and other related resources. The object taken is 8th grade class students that consists of 20 students. The technique analysis of data are explained that in report and used the percentage formula. The result of this study are the teachers have important roles in increasing students’ English speaking ability since they master the teaching strategy, implement the plan appropriately, build the relationships that support student learning, encourage both individual and group work and use some strategies to make students feel comfortable in speaking. In addition, Fatih Bilingual School gives positive effect on the students' English speaking ability since they must speak English in all situations, some teachers are from other countries which influence the students speaking ability and also motivate them to speak English more fluently.
