KECAMATAN MEURAXA DAN KUTA ALAM : A COMPARATIVE
STUDY

ABSTRAK
Kesiapsiagaan dalam menghadapi bencana gempa dan tsunami sangat dibutuhkan
oleh guru, karena memiliki peran yang sangat penting apabila gempa dan tsunami
terjadi di sekolah dan saat jam pelajaran berlangsung. Guru dapat memberi
pengarahan yang sesuai kepada siswa seperti cara evakuasi dan penyelamatan diri,
maka hal ini dapat mengurangi resiko korban jiwa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah
untuk mengetahui perbandingan kesiapsiagaan guru di sekolah siaga bencana dan
non siaga bencana berdasarkan empat parameter yaitu pengetahuan dan sikap,
rencana tanggap darurat, sistem peringatan dini dan mobilisasi sumberdaya. Jenis
penelitian adalah comparative dengan desain cross sectional study. Sampel adalah
seluruh guru PNS di SDN 13, SDN 2, SDN 7 Kecamatan Meuraxa dan SDN 27,
SDN 20, SDN 36 Kecamatan Kuta Alam Kota Banda Aceh sebanyak 81 orang
dengan menggunakan total sampling. Menggunakan kuesioner yang telah
dikembangkan oleh LIPI-UNESCO. Analisa data menggunakan analisa univariat
dan bivariat: independent t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kesiapsiagaan guru
di sekolah siaga bencana memiliki rata-rata 90,05 (SD 5,93) sementara sekolah
non siaga bencana memiliki rata-rata 71,69 (SD 11,25), terdapat perbedaan
kesiapsiagaan guru di sekolah siaga bencana dan non siaga bencana. Kesimpulan
penelitian adalah guru di sekolah siaga bencana lebih siap menghadapi bencana
dibandingkan guru di sekolah non siaga bencana. Direkomendasikan kepada
sekolah siaga bencana untuk dapat mempertahankan kesiapsiagaannya dan
sekolah non siaga bencana dapat meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan terkait bencana
gempa bumi dan tsunami.

TEACHERS’ PREPAREDNESS TO EARTHQUAKE AND TSUNAMI
DISASTER IN STATE PRIMARY SCHOOL IN MEURAXA AND KUTA
ALAM SUB-DISTRICTS: A COMPARATIVE STUDY

ABSTRACT
Teachers need preparedness face earthquake and tsunami disaster, because they
have a very crucial role if the earthquake and tsunami occur in school during
school time. Teachers are able to give appropriate briefing for student such as the
way to evacuate and self-preservation, therefore it can decrease the risk of
casualties. The aim of the research was to identify comparison between teachers’
preparedness in disaster preparedness school and non disaster preparedness school
based on four parameters i.e knowledge and behavior, emergency response plan,
early warning system, and resource mobilization. The type of the research was
comparative with cross sectional study design. Samples were all civil servant
teachers in SDN 13, SDN 13, SDN 2, SDN 7 in Meuraxa sub-district and SDN
27, SDN 20, SDN 36 in Kuta Alam sub-district Banda Aceh city i.e 81 people
using total sampling. Using questionaire developed by LIPI-UNESCO. Analysis
data was used univariate and bivariate: independent t-test. Result of the reasearch
showed that teachers’ preparedness in disaster preparedness school has average
90,05 (SD 5,93), while non disaster preparedness school has avarage 71,69 (SD
11,25). There was difference teachers’ preparedness between disaster
preparedness school and non disaster preparedness school. The conclusion of the
research is teachers in disaster preparedness school more prepared than teachers in
non disaster preparedness school. It is recommended for disaster preparedness
school to keep its preparedness and for non disaster preparedness school to
improve its preparedness to face earthquake and tsunami disaster.
