Penguasaan siswa dalam menyelesaikan operasi hitung campuran bilangan bulat merupakan dasar pembelajaran matematika yang diperlukan oleh siswa sejak awal untuk mencapai pembelajaran matematika yang lebih tinggi. Namun yang mengeksplorasi terkait proses penyelesaian siswa dalam menyelesaikan operasi hitung campuran bilangan bulat masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses siswa dalam menyelesaikan operasi hitung campuran bilangan bulat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kelas VII MTsS Darul Ihsan Abu Hasan Krueng Kalee yang terdiri atas 30 siswa. Subjek penelitian ini ada lima siswa yang dikelompokan sesuai dengan skor penguasaan, hasil pengelompokan tersebut terdiri dari satu siswa penguasaan tinggi, satu siswa penguasaan sedang dan tiga siswa penguasaan rendah. Untuk memperoleh data penelitian dilakukan tes dan wawancara terhadap subjek penelitian. Setelah seluruh data terkumpul maka data-data kualitatif dianalisis secara deskriptif, sedangkan data hasil tes dinilai berdasarkan penskoran soal operasi hitung campuran bilangan bulat. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa yang memiliki tingkat penguasaan tinggi dapat menyelesaikan soal dengan benar sesuai aturan operasi hitung campuran bilangan bulat. Berbeda dengan siswa yang memiliki tingkat penguasaan sedang dan rendah, mereka masih bermasalah dalam menyelesaikan soal sesuai aturan operasi hitung campuran bilangan bulat. Oleh karena itu guru perlu melatih siswa menyelesaikan soal operasi hitung campuran bilangan bulat dan mengarahkan hingga siswa mampu menguasai setiap aturan dalam materi tersebut.

Students' mastery in solving mixed integer arithmetic operations is the basis for learning mathematics which is required by students from the start to achieve higher mathematics learning. However, what explores the process of solving students in completing mixed integer arithmetic operations is still limited. This study aims to describe the students' process in solving mixed integer arithmetic operations. This study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. This research was conducted in class VII MTsS Darul Ihsan Abu Hasan Krueng Kalee consisting of 30 students. The subjects of this study were five students who were grouped according to mastery scores, the results of the grouping consisted of one high mastery student, one medium mastery student and three low mastery students. To obtain research data, tests and interviews were carried out with research subjects. After all the data was collected, the qualitative data were analyzed descriptively, while the test results were assessed based on the scoring of mixed integer arithmetic operations. Based on the results of the data analysis, it can be concluded that students who have a high level of mastery can solve the questions correctly according to the rules of mixed integer arithmetic operations. In contrast to students who have moderate and low levels of mastery, they still have problems in solving problems according to the rules of mixed integer arithmetic operations. Therefore the teacher needs to train students to solve mixed integer arithmetic operations questions and direct them so that students are able to master every rule in the material.
