Abstract name : farna putri purwasih student no : 0906102050090 study program : english education title : implementing mediated instruction of text strategy (an experimental research at second grade of smpn 8 banda aceh) keywords: reading comprehension, narrative text, mit strategy this study is focused on improving studentsí reading comprehension by using mediated instruction of text (mit) strategy for the second grade of smpn 8 banda aceh. quantitative approach with experimental study of one group pretest-postest design was undertaken to overcome the problems faced by students in understanding narrative text. the research instrument of this study is test and the data collected through pre-test, treatments, and post-test. in addition, some statisctical formula were also used to analyze the data. from the results of the study revealed there is a significant improvement on studentsí reading comprehension after mit strategy implemented. thus, mit strategy can be one of
