Mathematics is important and useful in everyday life as well
its applications are widely used in science. But in reality,
until now there are still many students in general have negative perceptions and
less interested in mathematics and not a few who assume
scary math, to be avoided as much as possible. Purpose

In this study, the students of MAN Aceh Barat Daya with a background of
tahfidzul quran education. The data collection techniques used are
interview. The main instrument in this research is the researcher himself, while
supporting instruments in the form of semi-structured interview guidelines. Data analyzed
using the procedure proposed by Miles and Huberman, namely
data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of this study
shows that MAN Aceh Barat Daya students with a background of
Tahfidzul Quran education generally still has a negative perception of
mathematics on indicators of receiving material and assessing mathematics.
