This study aims to (1) find the forms of hate speech contained in Tanah Surga Merah novel by Arafat Nur; and (2) know the way of presentation of the hate speech found in Tanah Surga Merah novel by Arafat Nur. This study uses a qualitative approach. This research includes in the type of descriptive research. The data source for this research is Arafat Nur's novel, which is entitled Tanah Surga Merah, the second printing that is published in 2019. The data for this research are words, phrases, sentences, dialogues, or narrations in novels that contain hate speech. Data collection is done by documentation technique. Data analysis was done by hermeneutic technique. Hermeneutic techniques are used to study, understand, and appreciate the symbols of hate speech contained in the novel. Finally, describe them comprehensively. The results show that there are six forms of hate speech, namely (1) hate speech in the form of insults; (2) hate speech in the form of defamation; (3) hate speech in the form of blasphemy; (4) hate speech in the form of unpleasant actions, (5) hate speech in the form of provoking or inciting; and (6) hate speech in the form of spreading false news. Among the six forms, hate speech in the form of insults appears as the dominant of hate speech. Hate speech in Arafat Nur's novel Tanah Surga Merah is presented through expository and dramatic techniques. The presentation of hate speech through expository techniques is done by providing a direct description, analysis, or explanation. The presentation of hate speech through dramatic techniques is carried out in several ways or techniques, namely conversation techniques, behavior techniques, thoughts and feelings techniques, character reaction techniques, other character reaction techniques, background painting techniques, and physical character painting techniques. Of the two techniques, the dominant technique used by the author in presenting the hate speech in the novel is a dramatic technique.
