Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan berbicara siswa SMA menggunakan aplikasi Cake yang memiliki fitur Artificial Intelligence dan speech recognition (pengenalan suara oleh kecerdasan buatan) di MAN 1 Aceh Besar. Penelitian ini dilakukan karena terdapat banyak siswa sekolah menengah atas yang tidak mampu berbicara Bahasa Inggris secara baik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan berbicara siswa setelah siswa diajari latihan berbicara Bahasa Inggris menggunakan aplikasi Cake. Populasi dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 146 siswa dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 26 siswa. Dalam penelitian ini, data dikumpulkan melalui instrumen penelitian pre-test dan post-test. Peneliti menggunakan metode kuantitatif dan desain penelitian eksperimental untuk menganalisis keterampilan berbicara siswa. Menurut temuan penelitian ini, kemampuan berbicara siswa meningkat dalam hal kelancaran (fluency), tata bahasa (grammar), pengucapan (pronuncition), dan kosa kata (vocabulary). Penelitian ini menyajikan media pembelajaran terbaik untuk belajar dan mengajar bahasa Inggris, khususnya dalam pembelajaran untuk keterampilan berbicara Bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini juga diharapkan dapat membantu siswa dalam mengimplementasikan aplikasi Cake sebagai media baru dalam pembelajaran berbicara bahasa Inggris sehingga mereka dapat berbicara bahasa Inggris secara efektif.
This research investigated the enhancement of senior high school students’ speaking skills using cake application with artificial intelligence speech recognition at MAN 1 Aceh Besar. The purpose of carrying out this study was attributed to the competency of many students in speaking English still considered poor in senior high school students. The objective of the study is to find out the enhancement in students’ speaking skills after the students were taught by using Cake application. The population in this study consisted of 146 students with a total of 26 students as samples. In this study, the data was collected through pre-test and post-test research instruments. The researcher used the quantitative method and experimental research design to analyze students speaking skills. According to the findings of this study, students' speaking abilities improved in terms of fluency, grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary. This research provides the best media for teaching and learning English, particularly in speaking skills. This study is also expected to assist students in implementing Cake application as a new media in learning English speaking so that they may speak English effectively.
