Kemampuan pemahaman konsep merupakan dasar dari kemampuan lainnya termaksud kemampuan komunikasi. namun kemampuan pemahaman konsep dan kemampuan komunikasi mahasiswa universitas samudra belum dapat terukur secara jelas untuk dapat ditarik kesimpulan. sehingga tujuan penelitian ini yaitu (1) untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemahaman konsep mahasiswa pendidikan fisika universitas samudra. (2) untuk mengetahui kemampuan komunikasi mahasiswa pendidikan fisika universitas samudra (3) untuk mengetahui hubungan kemampuan pemahaman konsep terhadap kemampuan berkomunikasi mahasiswa universitas samudra. penelitian ini menggunakan metode mixed method research design, teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik analisis data deskriptif-kuantitatif,. sampel penelitian 38 mahasiswa dari prodi pendidikan fisika universitas samudra. hasil penelitian menunjukan kemampuan pemahaman konsep mahasiswa pendidikan fisika universitas samudra dengan presentase dari keseluruhan indikator pemahaman konsep pada kategori tinggi 42,11 %, kategori sedang sebanyak 39,47 %, dan kategori rendah sebanyak 18,42 %. sedangkan kemampuan komunikasi mahasiswa pendidikan fisika universitas samudra dengan presentase dari keseluruhan indikator komunikasi 34,21%, kategori sedang sebanyak 34,21%, dan kategori rendah sebanyak 31,57%. hasil koefisien korelasi yang didapatkan dari r=0,839 adalah tinggi. berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan pemhaman konsep dan kemampuan komunikasi tertulis mahasiswa pendidikan universitas samudra masih tergolong rendah, hasil korelasi yang didapatkan menunjukan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara kemampuan pemahaman konsep dan kemampuan berkomunikasi tertulis.



Abstract

The ability to understand concepts is the basis of other abilities, including communication. However, the ability to understand concepts and communication of Samudra University students cannot be clearly measured to draw conclusions. So the purpose of this study is (1) To determine the ability to understand concepts of physics education students at Samudra University. (2) To determine the communication skills of physics education students at Samudra University. (3) To determine the relationship between the ability to understand concepts and the communication skills of University of Samudra students. This study uses the Mixed method research design, the data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive-quantitative data analysis technique. The research sample was 38 students from the physics education study program at Samudra University. The results showed the ability to understand concepts of physics education students at Samudra University with the percentage of overall concept understanding indicators in the high category 42.11%, the medium category as much as 39.47%, and the low category as much as 18.42%. while the communication ability of students of physics education at Samudra University with a percentage of the overall communication indicators is 34.21%, the medium category is 34.21%, and the low category is 31.57%. The correlation coefficient results obtained from R = 0.839 is high. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the ability to understand concepts and written communication skills of University of Samudra education students is still relatively low, the correlation results obtained indicate that there is a relationship between the ability to understand concepts and the ability to communicate in writing.
