ABSTRACT Name : Ilyas faisal Student No : 1106102010076 Study Program : English Education Title : The Use of Learning Model of Think Pair Share in Improving Students’ Reading Skill Ability (A Classroom Action Research at Grade 2, Semester 1, SMPN 3 Simeulue Barat) This study aims at examining the use of learning model of think pair share in order to improve students’ reading skill ability. For this purpose, classroom action research undertaken to solve the problems faced by students at SMPN 3 Simeulue Barat in learning reading skill. The data collected in this study by means of test and observation. From the result of study reveals that students’ learning outcome on second cycle increased in which on first cycle the number of students who achieved learning accomplishment 18 students (75 %), while, on second cycle it became 23 students (95,83 %) who had achieved learning accomplishment. From this study can be concluded that the use of learning model of think pair share can improve students’ ability in reading skill. Therefore, it is suggested for teachers of English to use this learning model in order to increase their students learning achievement particularly in teaching reading skill.
