Abstract Name : Rusydi Student’s Number : 1106102110074 Study Program : English Education Script Title : The Implementation of Mind Mapping to Improve Students’ Ability in Writing Descriptive Text. Based on the writer’s teaching experience, it was found that the students find it difficult to writing skill. This also influenced their ability in composing and producing a good writing. The students were also lack of motivation. To solve this problem, Mind Mapping technique is a solution for students in developing their writing ability. This action research was conducted towards 21 students at SMP Negeri 3 LaweSigalagala, South East Aceh. This study showed that the students’ writing ability improved in the second cycle. 80.95% of the students passed the KKM. Thus, Mind Mapping is a good technique in shaping, Key Words: Writing, Mind Mapping.
