Abstrak/Catatan

One of the features that will be applied to fifth generation (5G) technology is Device-to-Device (D2D) communication. D2D communication can occur directly without going through evolved Node B (eNB) so that it can reduce traffic density on cellular network communications. However, at the application of D2D communication has constrained by the limited transmission distance and multi-user service at the same source. Modeling the LTE D2D multicast network and simulating it with software is an effective and efficient alternative in analyzing results of mac throughput from the network modeling. The test conducted aims to observe and analyzing results of mac throughput from a comparison between two parameters, the transmission distance and the number of recipient users based on the utilization of the Channel Quality Indicator (CQI) index within the specified time period. simulation results show that both the distance and the number of users have an influence on the resulting throughput. The selection of CQI is the important factor in maintaining transmission quality and mac throughput produced.
