Abstract Name : Muridhal Student No. : 1106102020026 Study Program : English Education Title : An Exploration on Teacher’s View of Teaching EFL Writing Class through Picture Media Key words : Picture, Teacher’s view, Teaching Writing, Descriptive text Writing is one of language skills which is difficult for the students to write, because this activity expects them to create written product in which it demonstrates certain ideas structurally which involve the correct grammar, content, organization, mechanism, spelling, vocabulary, and punctuation. In curriculum 2013, students are demanded to produce written text based on certain genres. One of genres that they should produce is a descriptive text. Unfortunately, sometimes students get stuck in describing something. Because of these difficulties, some efforts have been done to solve the problems. One of them is by using picture. The teacher used picture to improve and motivate students in writing skill. This study is intended to explore teacher’s view of teaching EFL writing class through picture media. The design of this study was a descriptive qualitative study. To obtain the data, the writer used interview and observation. The result of interview and observation showed that the teacher has a positive view toward using picture in teaching writing skill. In addition, the picture is gained through “Google image” on the basis of internet access. Furthermore, in relation to the finding of observation, it is clear that the teacher provided the colorful picture instead of black/white, and it was distributed to all of students in EFL class.
